The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce serves as a resource and advocate for local businesses in Gainesboro and across Jackson County. The Chamber supports economic growth by promoting networking, community engagement, and initiatives that strengthen the local economy and quality of life.
We're not content to simply rest on our laurels though. With new businesses coming to downtown Gainesboro and the revitalization of tourism and adventure, we continue to add to the long list of reasons that Jackson County is fast becoming one of Tennessee's new destinations.
Jackson County's Business community is very diverse, ranging from small Mom & Pop to World Class and is a broadband ready community. The State of Tennessee is making this a highly desirable place to move your industry (see TN Economic Development). Jackson County has a small Airport as well as opportunities for outdoor adventure on the Cumberland & Roaring Rivers.
Industrial Board
The Industrial Development Board of Jackson County is empowered by the "Industrial Development Corporation Act of Tennessee" to acquire, own, lease and dispose of properties, to promote industry and to develop trade by attracting manufacturing and industrial enterprises in an effort to enhance employment and economic growth for its' citizens.
The Industrial Development Board also acts as a recipient and administrator of various grants and low-interest loan programs available thru federal, state and Tennessee Valley Authority programs. In addition, it serves as a non-recourse conduit lender for taxable or tax-free financing thru loans or industrial bond issues for qualifying industries.
In addition the Industrial Board administers, on behalf of Jackson County, a tax abatement or payment-in-lieu-of-tax program for industrial real and personal property.
